We see it every single day: negativity coming across our social media feeds. A news story breaks and people are quick to judge without having all the facts. An election happens and it divides us versus bringing us together. Instead of supporting an actress who works hard, people comment right to her social media feeds on how much weight she’s gained. At one point, it was driving me so crazy I decided to name my social media accounts Inspire Me Lounge and keep it all positive.
Some days, this is easy. Other days, this is tough.
However, so much good has come over the past year (plus!) by only sharing the good!
I decided to take things to yet another level. I’m challenging YOU to a Positive Vibes Only Social Media challenge. Yes, you. You can do this. If I can do this for over one year and counting, so can you.
Here’s how it works – just two simple steps:
1. Commit to the challenge for a minimum of ONE week. That’s at least, and only, 7 FULL days of keeping everything positive across all the social media platforms you use: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. If you use Twitter, tweet me (@inspiremelounge) that you are taking this challenge and for how long.
2. Keep it all positive. Be kind and respectful. Shine with positivity! If you happen to share something that isn’t positive – delete it quick. We all make mistakes. All I ask is for you to just do your best.
Upon completion, have some chocolate, do three jumping jacks and give yourself a pat on the back. You did it! Try to get in the habit of keeping your social media posts and comments all positive. There are too many who don’t follow the golden rule (treat others the way you want to be treated) on social media.
Life’s too short.
Keep positive and inspire the world.
