Life is amazing, so enjoy it. Be yourself. Be your own kind of awesome. – Meg
So many people have it wrong. Being yourself is awesome. If we all conform to the “trendy” clothes, the “trendy” music to listen to, the “trendy” books to read – we’d all be the same and how boring is that?!?
Being your own kind of awesome means you have to cherish what makes you different. There’s no such thing as normal or perfect. If you are like me, you get acne even after your teenage years. It is so annoying. However, I just realized that it’s something I cannot control no matter how much I wash my face, what face wash/product I use, etc. I realized I just had to rock my 1-2 pimples I may have at any given time. At the end of the day, if pimples are the biggest worry in my day, I should just consider myself lucky.
For another example, I hate wearing my glasses outside of my home. One day last week, my last pair of contacts got torn and I ended up rocking my glasses to work. At first, I was self-conscious about them. It brought me back to 7th and 8th grade when I got made fun of and told I had an “ugly face” because of my glasses, braces, and bangs. Then I realized, my co-workers were kind and said they looked nice. I figured out how to rock the 4-eyed look and be proud of it. I didn’t buy blinged-out glasses for nothing.
At the end of the day, be yourself and be your own kind of awesome. We all, let me repeat, we all have things we don’t like about ourselves, but that’s what makes us awesome. Learn how to rock it!
